04 · Wallet scan

Your own leaks, found locally.

Paste a viewing key. A WebAssembly scanner finds your shielded transactions on this device, then Leakscope shows what an outside observer can link them to. The key never leaves the browser.

Input · viewing key

Start at or before your wallet's birthday, or spends of earlier notes are missed. Mainnet defaults to Ironwood activation (3,428,143); scanning runs at roughly 200 blocks per second.

Your key never leaves this tab. The scanner is WebAssembly running on your device. It downloads every compact block in the range from a public lightwalletd proxy and trial-decrypts them here, so the proxy learns only the height range and your IP address, not which transactions are yours. Findings are matched against static files from this site. Nothing is stored.

What you will get

The transactions your key can see, and for each one every leak an outside observer can find: round trips, amount matches, address reuse, revealed migration amounts and fee fingerprints. Try the testnet demo key: it belongs to a wallet we used to make deliberate mistakes.

Limits worth knowing

  • Transparent-only activity is invisible to a viewing-key scan. Shielding and deshielding transactions are found, because they touch your shielded notes.
  • Start at or before your wallet birthday. The scanner recognises a spend only if it saw the note being created.
  • Findings come from the indexed range. A wallet transaction outside it is listed but has no analysis yet.
  • The block proxy sees your IP address and the height range you asked for. Use a VPN or Tor if that matters, or scan a wider range than your activity.
